HP announces new regional Indigo installations

Part of HP APJ's drupa 2016 announcement rollout includes two regional Indigo acquisitions from the Philippines and Malaysia.

Philippines-based Topbest Printing Corp has recently acquired another HP Indigo WS6800 Press, adding to its current fleet of HP presses. Topbest is one of the leading digital label printing company in the country.

“The market for digital is definitely growing. The trend for labels, packaging, shrink sleeves, and in-mold labels is towards shorter runs with more number of SKU’s. Personalization is also what consumers are looking for in order for brands to capture their attention. All of these can only be done with digital printing,” said Jimmy Co, president, Topbest.

Topbest’s transformation from being a traditional conventional printer to being a major digital player is widely lauded in the industry, considering it was achieved in a short span of four years.

According to Co, the company’s partnership with HP and Norde International (official distributor for HP in Philippines) is a defining factor to their growth and success: “Aside from our conscious decision to go digital to cater to the changing needs of the market, we are very happy about the fact that we chose the right partners in Norde and HP in making this transition. They go beyond what suppliers would usually do for customers.”

In the last few years, Topbest has also expanded their offerings into the sign and display market by investing in HP Scitex and HP Latex printers. Their long term vision is to become the preferred one-stop service provider for their customers and have further strengthened preparations for this goal by earning certifications for three ISO standards, a feat that very few Philippine printers have reached.

Topbest is already in discussions with Norde and HP for their next machine acquisition. “If things go as planned, we are looking to add yet another HP Indigo machine to our fleet within the next few months,” said Co.

PhotoCru Sdn Bhd from Malaysia purchased a HP Indigo W7250 Digital Press to expand its photo product services. The photobook service provider aims to reinvent productivity with the purchase.

The company today has a total of four HP digital printing presses including the HP Indigo 7600, 7500, and WS6600 Digital Presses.

With breakthrough speed and quality for high-volume production, the HP Indigo W7250 Digital Press will enable the company to continue innovating and offer high end photo products as they strive to be the region's leading photo products company.

PhotoCru has been successfully expanding its portfolio from traditional photobooks to a diversified range of personalised print-on-demand services available across new print applications such as flush mount albums, seamless lay flat photobooks, calendars, stationery, photo gifts and home decor.
