Asian Packaging Conference 2017 opens for registration
The 15th edition of the Asian Packaging Conference is set to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 27-28 April 2017. Over the course of two days, delegates can expect to hear about issues in the Asian packaging industry from Asia, Australia and Europe.
Organised by Labels & Packaging Innovation Asia (formerly known as AFTA), the conference targets business owners and suppliers, packaging printers, converters, brand owners, designers. Previous editions have attracted visitors all over the region, especially from Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Australasia.
The comprehensive conference will cover issues in pre-press, digital, flexo, gravure, finishing, design and branding faced by today’s print packaging business owners. The conference will facilitate an active exchange of ideas, networking and participation in the growing print industry in Asia.
Delegates interested in learning about the latest technology and implementing it to their businesses can do so in the technical workshops and sponsor tabletop displays held alongside.
The technical workshops and tabletops will feature 40 manufacturing and supply companies. To better tailor to individualized business needs of delegates, the new set-up will for one-on-one customised consultations on the latest products and technology in the packaging industry. Companies that are set to participate include HP, Bobst, Xeikon, Flint Group, Kodak, Gallus, CGS, Dailian International and DIC inks.

This year’s conference is supported by NPES Indonesia, a non-profit organisation of US-based suppliers for printing and converting technologies. The aim of the association is to help its members grow within the Indonesian market, as well as grow import for US-based companies.
NPES Indonesia will be leading a discussion on Day 2 of the conference, where brand owners are invited to share challenges within the print packaging industry.
15th Asian Packaging Excellence Awards
Asian Packaging Conference will be celebrating its 15th year of organising the Packaging Excellence Awards. Winners will be announced at the Gala Dinner, held on the second night of the conference.
Each year, the awards never fail to churn out exciting products that set industry standards. The annual competition is now open for entry submissions. The awards committee invites printers to submit entries for gravure, flexo and labels printing.
Judging is expected to commence end-March 2017 by a panel of esteemed industry veterans including Robert James, Willem (Wim) Swiggers and Alf Carrigan.
