Bobst boosts presence in Vietnam

Latest Innovations and market trends highlighted at BOBST & Partners roadshow held in Vietnam

The edition of the BOBST & Partners roadshow held in Vietnam on 20th April attracted 100 participants from 40 companies at the helm of driving the development of the booming flexible packaging market in Ho Chi Minh City to hear about the latest innovations and trends in flexible packaging and labels.

The well-established format brings together industry leaders from across the globe who are driving innovation in the development and expansion of printing processes in the global flexible packaging and labelling industry. During the course of the day, BOBST covered CI flexographic and gravure printing, coating, laminating, vacuum metallization, narrow- and mid-web in-line flexo printing and introduced various printing and converting equipment to help the Vietnamese manufacturers improve efficiency and reduce operating costs by taking advantage of new innovations in the area of production technology.

Partners including Rossini, Daetwyler SwissTec, Siegwerk, Schmid Rhyner, Coim, Jindal Films, DuPont, Esko and Kodak additionally discussed market trends and solutions in their respective fields, covering the areas of printing, converting, production and finishing.

Bobst reported that feedback from participants was good, and that the topics presented were seen as relevant to the latest trends in the packaging and label industry.

Eric Pavone, business development director of BOBST Business Unit Web-fed, said: “Vietnam is one of the fastest growing markets in South East Asia in terms of flexible packaging and labels consumption; this is mainly focused on internal consumption but also export due to the increased presence of Japanese and international converters serving all South East Asia.”

“BOBST’s strategy is to increase our presence in Vietnam to sustain our sales as in previous years. The strengthening of our Services organisation for Vietnam is currently in progress to support our increasing base of installed machines and serve our customers more efficiently and more rapidly,” he continued.

“We appointed a new agent in 2016, PPMC (Print & Pack Machinery Co. Ltd) to promote the full portfolio of BOBST web-fed equipment in Vietnam and they have been working successfully: key products so far are the best selling RS 5002 press and the new RS 6003 platform for gravure printing, the compact CL 750D and SL 750D duplex laminators, and label production lines such as the MX, M3 and M4 lines.”
