One Week to Asian Packaging Conference 2018

SHIFT_018 will be presenting two days of learning, discovery and networking.

Asian Packaging Conference 2018 returns next week in Bangkok, Thailand from 2 to 3 May 2018. With the theme SHIFT_018, the conference celebrates its 16th year running at the Grand Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park Hotel.

SHIFT_018 is Asia’s premiere labels and packaging event that attracts label and package printing converters and printers, designers, suppliers and brand owners.

Organised by Packaging and Print Innovation Asia, the two-day conference will be filled with enlightening presentations, thought-provoking discussions and networking opportunities, with the aim to transform print and packaging businesses.

Like past editions, the conference is expected to welcome delegations from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and the Philippines. The conference also expects visitors from India, Australia, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

Presentations from Thought Leaders and Experts

SHIFT_018 promises a diverse range of speakers that covers all areas of the packaging industry. The speakers include brand owners, design and pre-press houses, and end-users and suppliers.

Presentation topics that visitors can look forward to include industry trends, eco-friendly packaging, global print opportunity, business transforming with digital, and augmented reality.

The keynote presentations will be delivered by Peter Schaefer, partner of leading investment banking firm in the print and packaging industry, New Direction Partners.

Having closed more than one hundred transactions in virtually every segment of the print and packaging, Schaefer will lead scintillating keynotes over the two days. Catch his presentations titled: “Eight Imperatives to Grow During a Challenging Environment” and “Succession Planning: Is the Future of Your Business Secure?”.

Another highlight of the event will be a panel session where delegates can voice individualised concerns on their business. The Panel session first started at the 2017th Asian Packaging Conference, and proved a success. Converters, business owners, and printers were able to get direct answers to their specific issues.

Winners for Asian Packaging Excellence Awards and Asian Packaging Awards to be announced at SHIFT_018

Winners for the annual Asian Packaging Excellence and Asian Print Awards will be unveiled at SHIFT_08. Winners will be announced at the Gala Dinner, held on the second night of the conference.

Asian Packaging Conference will be celebrating its 16th year of organising the Packaging Excellence Awards. The Asian Packaging Excellence Awards get a new lease of life this year, as new categories were added. The new categories include Mock-ups/Samples, Structural Design, Concept/Graphic Design. The additions and reorganisation of existing categories signal a flourishing and diversification within Asia’s packaging industry.

The annual awards competition was founded to recognise outstanding achievements in the print and packaging industries across Asia. The Asian Packaging Excellence Awards is a joint competition organised by AFTA, the Asian Label Association (ALA) and Asian Gravure Association (AGA).

The Asian Print Awards is the only regional print quality competition of its kind in Asia.

The Independent Judging Panel comprises highly qualified personnel form within Asia and around the world. Judges for Asian Print Awards are Willem (Wim) Swiggers, Phee Boon Eow, Viroon Songsermsawad, Ben Kwok and Major Wong Wing Kwong. The Asian Packaging Awards was presided by Willem (Wim) Swiggers, Robert James and Boon Eow.

Supported by leading industry-supply companies, the competition awards excellent print and packaging products with the Gold, Silver or Bronze award. The Awards are judged on a wholly quality-oriented set of criteria to ensure that fair play is enacted at all times.
