Japan’s Rengo to install Asia Pacific’s first HP PageWide T1190
HP Japan announced that Rengo Co., Ltd., will be its first customer in Asia Pacific to purchase the HP PageWide T1190 digital press. They are planning to operate it in the summer of 2019 and plan to start full-scale digital printing in Japan’s corrugated packaging market.
The HP PageWide T1190 is the world’s most productive digital packaging press and sets the standard for quality and performance. This will allow Rengo to create new value and actively propose solutions to fulfil all the packaging needs of various industries.
Rengo is the largest containerboard packaging business in Asia with more than 170 manufacturing operations in Asia and America. They currently offer paperboard products ranging from general-purpose to high-graphics decorative corrugated packaging and point-of-purchase displays, and serve leading brands in a variety of industries, including confectionaries, food and beverages, and sundries.
Market-changing digital pre-print for high-volume corrugated packaging
With the HP PageWide T1190, brands will be able to enjoy greater flexibility in inventory management, faster time- to-market, consistent colour reproduction, and versatility in media selection.
Compared to the current PageWide T1100S, the new press has 67 percent more throughput productivity, with 305-meter/minute throughput capacity. Paired with the advanced HP One Package workflow solution, Rengo will be able to provide its brands with the industry’s leading digital pre-print solution.
The new six-color capability of the PageWide T1190 Press covers a broader color gamut to help meet the rigorous colour demands of leading brands.
It uses water-based inks that are designed specifically for pre-print corrugated packaging business and meet worldwide regulatory requirements. It also addresses a broad range of health and environmental considerations throughout the entire life cycle of a print from production to disposal. These are formulated to address food and beverage packaging and other sensitive applications in which the risk of odour may concern brands and consumers. These sensitive packaging applications include pet food, infant care, toys, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics.
