The two new offerings were launched at the recently concluded Labelexpo Americas 2018.
At Labelexpo Americas 2018, Xeikon introduced the new next-generation QB toner, replacing QA-I and ICE toners for Xeikon 3000 series and Cheetah digital label presses. Concurrently, the company announced the availability of a Xeikon Performance Services (XPS), new component as part of its aXelerate Services Program.
Next-generation Xeikon QB Toner - replaces QA and ICE toners for all 3000 series and Cheetah digital label presses
Xeikon introduced the new next-generation QB toner, replacing QA-I and ICE toners for Xeikon 3000 series and Cheetah digital label presses. QB toner is now being shipped with all new label & packaging presses from Xeikon. Existing customers will be able to upgrade their presses in early 2019.
“As a leader in the development of dry toner technologies, Xeikon is always concerned with ensuring its dry toner products meet all regulatory requirements, including food safety,” said Filip Weymans, Xeikon’s vice president of marketing.
“Dry toner continues to be the preferred technology for digitally printing packaging that is food-safe. Xeikon is future-proofing these solutions by monitoring regulatory changes to ensure continued compliance. Many label printers are already using Xeikon digital presses for food-related applications, and this new QB toner will ensure they stay at the forefront of regulatory compliance.
Xeikon QB toners are available in formulations that require high temperatures for fusing (QB-I) and lower fusing temperatures (QB-IC and QB-CH). These formulations are designed to be compliant not only with today’s regulations, but with emerging regulations as well. Xeikon has replaced or omitted compounds in these toners that are now allowed but may potentially be affected by future regulatory action.
Xeikon also celebrated its 30-year anniversary of dry toner research & development at Labelexpo.
Xeikon Performance Services - improves production management with a focus on continuous improvement and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Xeikon Performance Services (XPS) is a new premium service that facilitates the ongoing need for a production manager to manage print production with a focus on continuous improvement. Once enabling tools have been installed by Xeikon personnel, data from presses and peripheral equipment are collected automatically, augmented by additional print room data collected by the operator from an easy-to-use touch screen.
XPS employs well-established continuous improvement best practices from the manufacturing industry in the print production environment to help operations improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Xeikon is in a unique position in the industry to help customers start, manage and optimise their printing and converting businesses, offering a different kind of support from installation to getting machines up and running, through to optimising existing operations.
Xeikon’s aXelerate program, a key element of its customer service approach, is application-driven and designed to help customers develop new applications and grow their volumes on Xeikon presses.
“When we established the aXelerate Program, our goal was to assemble a set of tools and services that would make our customers more efficient and profitable, and ensure they are able to get more out of their digital investments,” said Weymans.
“The initial offering has been very positively received, but we also wanted to continue to develop the program to add even more value based on customer feedback. The latest addition, Xeikon Performance Services, brings manufacturing best practices to the rapidly evolving and often challenging print production environment and is a direct result of what customers told us they needed."
Xeikon Performance Services offer a wide range of benefits for a print production operation, including:
An on-site manufacturing audit,
Intelligent monitoring of any Xeikon presses to capture operational trends.
Monitoring operator tasks to identify opportunities for improving press uptime, reducing waste, etc.
Improving productivity and reducing cost by collecting and analyzing real print-room data.
Providing actionable information with root-cause analytics.
Tracking Overall Equipment Effectiveness in real-time.
Supporting Lean, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement methodologies.
