CGS contract proofing systems meet all ISO criteria

For two days, Fogra has been testing six contract proofing systems from CGS in detail. All of these systems have received the Fogra certificate.

In this test program, the Research Institute for Media Technologies investigated special combinations of software, printers, (inks) and substrates. The contract proofing systems were tested according to a predefined catalog of criteria based on the current version of the ISO 12647-7:2016 standard. These criteria include colour accuracy and colour gamut as well as short-term and long-term repeatability, aging and light fastness of the print results. More information about the evaluation criteria and the entire testing process is available on the Fogra website.

The comprehensive tests were carried out for six proofing systems: ORIS Color Tuner // Web and ORIS Flex Pack // Web used with different Canon and Epson printers and new ORIS Media. One of these tests, for example, consisted in printing according to the FOGRA51 standard using an Epson SureColor SC-P7000 Violet printer and ORIS PearlPROOF Premium FOG 250 paper.

All systems received the Fogra certification. These were not the first or only systems tested. CGS submits new systems and substrates to Fogra for analysis at regular intervals.

"The extensive tests performed by Fogra as an external body are very important for us," said Marcus Brune, product manager at CGS. "They ensure that key criteria are analyzed in an unbiased and comprehensive way. This is extremely useful for verifying and constantly improving the quality of our products".

An overview of the existing certifications is available on the websites of CGS and Fogra.
