Launched at Labelexpo, Screen’s new Truepress Jet L350UV SAI inkjet utilises press proprietary colour management technologies developed in collaboration with CGS.
At Labelexpo, SCREEN Graphic Solutions Co., Ltd. (SCREEN GA) launched its new Truepress Jet L350UV SAI digital label printing machine. The inkjet printer is equipped with additional slots for mounting inkjet printheads. It has seven ink slots, making it possible to work alongside CMYK with white, orange and blue to effectively expand the colour space.
In order to make the best possible use of the extended colour space and the ink sets, SCREEN relies on the colour management know-how of CGS Publishing Technologies. The Truepress Jet L350UV SAI has been equipped with a specially developed technology based on the core concept of the latest, fully automated colour management software ORIS x Gamut. The proprietary technology enables the accurate reproduction of spot colours in an easy and reliable way with an extended fixed colour palette.
“Print quality has always been a key factor for the Truepress series. I am proud to announce the new Truepress Jet L350UV SAI with CGS technology built in. The enhancement will be especially noticeable when orange and blue inks are added,” said Yukiyoshi Tanaka, Global Division Head, Label Inkjet.
With the right software, multi-channel printing brings numerous benefits to printers and brand owners alike: Starting with lower colour procurement costs, including more efficient and flexible production processes, and even better utilisation of the machines used.
“Obviously we are extremely excited and proud about this co-operation. With the CGS ORIS colour management embedded in the RIP, we helped Screen get their device onto a whole different level, emphasizing their leading position in the label market,” said Christoph Thommessen, managing director, CGS.
As the colour management tool can not only convert and optimise spot colours, but also process RGB data at the same time and visibly improves the colour saturation of images, it is often used in packaging as well as photo printing.
The new Truepress Jet L350UV SAI standard model (S) will be available worldwide n February 2020, followed by an entry-level model (E) with reduced installation costs, flagship model (Z), and suitable model for food packaging labels (LM). The flagship Z model allows a print speed of up to 80 meters per minute. Each of the four systems can be upgraded on-site with additional colours.
