Grand Winners of HP Digital Print Excellence Awards 2020

HP Inc. recently announced the winners of the HP Digital Print Excellence Awards 2020. Now in their 13th year, the awards celebrate the invaluable contribution print service providers (PSPs) from Asia Pacific make to advancing the print industry through HP Indigo digital presses.

Entries were scored based on overall aesthetics, impact and marketing effectiveness, shelf appeal, design suitability, uniqueness and innovation, and best use of media and substrate.

As part of the awards programme, judges awarded three Grand Winners and two Creative Winners in recognition of their outstanding print quality, finishing and innovative designs.

The Grand Winners and Creative Winners are:

Grand Winner: Calendars

GA Printing

GA Printing wins with a high-quality 2019 calendar adorned with a recognizable, tropical jungle pattern. Each print reflects a life milestone, symbolically charting an adventurous journey throughout the year. Hidden within the calendar are unexpected elements for recipients to lift, open, touch and fold, adding to the warm colors and bright designs – simply invigorating for the new year.

Grand Winner: Shrink Sleeves SHRINKflex Thailand

SHRINKflex’s herbal infuser shrink sleeve features designs of traditional Thai deities. The submission impressed the judges with its eye-catching packaging solution for a traditional product and remarkable print quality despite the small application surface area.

Grand Winner: Premium Photobook Sri Sivarama Digital Press (Printonica) India

Printonica’s differentiated photo book was printed in Vivid Green and Vivid Pink and was beautifully embellished to produce a multidimensional end-product. Its attractive and unique print defines a new standard for photo books, varying from the usual half-fold format and allowing brands to delight their customers with best-in-class, quality prints.

Creative Winner: Folding Cartons

Teckwah Singapore

Teckwah created a sustainable folding carton for festive giving, a time where a lot of waste is generated. One of this is a Christmas gift box with gifts that can be upcycled – a paper ornament packaged with sweet treats, a biodegradable soy candle, a deck of conversation starter cards and reusable boxes that can be used to store trinkets. The gift box is covered with a gold foil hot stamp finish, impressing the judges for its luxurious, creative and purposeful design.

Creative Winner: Speciality Printing

JinHua Maya Printing China

JinHua delivers a unique and delicate fan fixture with vibrant and vivid colours. With true-to-life skin gradation and smooth skin tone, it resulted in a realistic depiction of a female character.
