Another booked-out print expo to go live in Düsseldorf

Print & Digital Convention set to go live but localised, Landa Group confirms participation

Messe Düsseldorf announced that the Print & Digital Convention (PDC) will be kicking off on 20 October 2021.

The event organiser further announced that the Landa Group has confirmed participation on short notice. Over 60 companies will be exhibiting, with over 2,000 m² of event space completely booked out. Other key industry players include Canon, HP, Kodak, Konica Minolta and Esko.

The Print & Digital Convention congress fair features the entire spectrum of digital printing, digital media technology and multichannel applications.

PDC will revolve around eight theme worlds. The event is comprehensive, with a total of 48 lectures and workshops by over 60 international exhibitors – although it will all be in German, with no translation provided.

The event appears to be localised expo in Germany, as there will be no accompanying virtual show.

Organised by the Fachverband Medienproduktion (f:mp.) in cooperation with Messe Düsseldorf, the show was originally planned as a hybrid format.

Due to insufficient demand, the organisers have now decided to discontinue the digital streaming offering.

Messe Düsseldorf highlighted that “this development clearly underlines the participants' desire for personal contacts, networking and the on-site customer experience”.

"The current developments and relaxations have led to visitors deciding primarily in favour of the live event and a journey to the convention, which is definitely welcomed by the organisers and exhibitors. This shows once again that the core of Print & Digital Convention is the personal experience on site. After the long dry spell, participants are literally longing for physical touchpoints and interpersonal exchange,” said Rüdiger Maaß, Managing Director, f:mp.

"The strength of Print & Digital Convention is the smart mix of trade fair and expert lectures," said Sabine Geldermann, Project Director Print Technologies Messe Düsseldorf. "The congress programme is designed in such a way that there is enough space for intensive expert advice at the stands and extensive networking. The Print & Digital Convention offers the ideal platform for the business restart."

Messe Düsseldorf secures the trade fair visit by means of a comprehensive Hygiene and Infection Protection Concept for events in Düsseldorf. The protocols are constantly adapted to the current circumstances.

Unlike at Fespa Global in Amsterdam, masks are mandatory at PDC. Medical masks, FFP2 or KN95/N95 masks are permitted - no face shields or fabric masks.
