EFI drops out of drupa 2021
EFI announced that it is withdrawing from the 2021 edition of drupa. The company cited uncertain conditions surrounding the ever evolving COVID-19 pandemic as its reason for withdrawal.
“Our company has a long, positive history with drupa, as do I personally, having also run two companies that have been major drupa exhibitors in the past,” said Jeff Jacobson, chairman and CEO, EFI. “The show has always represented some of the best of what can be accomplished at an in-person event for the global print industry.
EFI joins the ever growing list of companies that will not be participating in drupa 2021, including Heidelberg, Bobst, Komori, Kodak and Fujifilm. Meanwhile, Koenig & Bauer and Landa has reaffirmed their commitment to the tradeshow.
Instead in-person events, EFI has been hosting and will continue to host remote events and demonstrations for customers and prospects. The company is equipped to hold remote demos every day of the week from its facilities across the globe, covering the entire portfolio of EFI display graphics, industrial inkjet, Fiery digital front end and MIS/ERP workflow solutions. EFI’s signature Connect users conference event has also gone virtual in 2021. EFI Engage will feature training, education, new technology news and partner developments for EFI customers from January 25 to February 5.
drupa organisers, Messe Dusseldorf, will also be launching drupa preview, an online platform that offer exhibitors and visitors an additional channel for touching base with the sector, discussing trending themes and presenting product portfolios. The free virtual platform is slated to launch in October, and will remain available till drupa in April 2021.
